Lois is a highly
qualified medical doctor with
fourteen years post-graduate
experience in hospital medicine. She
is trained in Emergency Medicine and
continues to work part-time as a
Consultant in Emergency Medicine in
a busy UK teaching hospital.
Her developing interest in a more
holistic approach, coupled with an
increasing frustration with just
‘patching people up’ and not
addressing the underlying causes of
their health problems has fuelled
Lois's interest in a more integrated
approach to health.
Lois lectures on 'Integrated Health'
at Warwick Medical School, where she
is an Honorary Associate Clinical
Professor in the Department of
Clinical Education.
She is particularly
passionate about the potential for improving
health and wellbeing in the workplace. With
her experience running a team of junior
doctors in one of the busiest A&E
departments in the country she is uniquely
placed to understand the effects of stress
in the workplace as well as having witnessed
the disastrous effects of chronic stress and
an unhealthy lifestyle in the acutely ill
emergency department patients.
She is an experienced
speaker and sees her role as empowering,
motivating and informing people – giving
them the tools they need to optimise their
own health.
Lois is a member of the Royal College of
Physicians, a Fellow of the College of
Emergency Medicine and a member of the
British Medical Association.
